Good Karma! Our new-crop Cherry Karma has arrived! A limited supply, though more ample than last year's introduction of this divine libation—the only coffee of this type ever to reach North America—is available only from Raven's Brew. This exclusive and unique coffee was produced and privately offered to RBC by Ashok Kurien, owner of Ballinoor Estate in India. The green coffee has been processed by a method virtually never used in India for Arabica coffees. The method is the "dry" method of drying the green beans inside of the Cherry in which they have developed. Rare, delicious, uncanny taste sensations result and produce a flavor profile that we treasure and delight in. Typically, green coffee beans are, immediately upon harvest, extracted from the delicious red fruit in which it develops. However, the "natural" method of processing allows the beans to remain in, and become imbued with, the sweetness and perfume of the luscious fruit, producing a coffee with unparalleled body and exotic aromas. Cherry Karma is grown among spice plants beneath exotic shade trees on the miraculously beautiful Balanoor Estate in the Western Ghat Mountains within an International Biosphere Preserve in the state of Karnataka in South India.
